Old Worthington has a new place to browse shelves with a drink in hand. The Whispering Page, a woman- and family-owned bookstore, cafe, and bar, marked a September 3 grand opening at 661 N. High St.
The owners posted the date and hours on the shop's website, inviting neighbors to raise a glass, find a next read, and stay awhile upstairs as well as on the main floor.
Regular hours now run Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The room pairs book browsing with Florin Coffee from Clintonville, beer from Zaftig and Wolf's Ridge, wine from Aardvark Wine and Beer, and baked goods from The Little Dot and Mrs. Goodman's.
Who is behind the shelves
Sisters-in-law Ashley and Devin McCoy built the shop around books and community rather than a quick grab-and-go counter. Their site frames the upstairs as a soft landing for clubs and longer visits, and the early calendar already points to author events and a late September midnight release party with Celestielle Bookstore.
The address sits on the same High Street block as Joya's, which just won planning approval to expand into 661A next door. That cluster matters for anyone stacking coffee, brunch, and evening plans without leaving Old Worthington's core.
