Our new guide, Thanksgiving Takeout in Columbus, is for households that would rather hand off the turkey this year. It covers whole smoked birds, cooked dinners from neighborhood markets, restaurant trays, pies and the dining rooms that will seat you on Thursday, November 26.

The lead pick is Texas Steele BBQ, the trailer at King Avenue and Kenny Road. Its holiday menu offers a whole smoked turkey meal with two half pans of sides for $175, with pickup on Thanksgiving Day itself, which frees up the home oven for casseroles. The guide also lists sit-down options such as Lindey's in German Village and The Guild House in the Short North.

The most useful part may be the deadline calendar, because the first one is close. Bluescreek Farm Meats stops taking fresh turkey orders on Saturday, October 31. After that the cutoffs bunch up in the week before the holiday, from The Berwick on November 17 to Smoked on High on November 23, and two barbecue kitchens simply sell until they run out. Every detail came from the businesses' own order pages in late October, and the guide flags places that had not posted a 2026 program yet.
