The Lox Bagel Shop Plans Second Location at Galaxy Near Polaris
Owner Kevin Crowley is taking the Short North hybrid bagels to 2140 Ikea Way this fall inside the Galaxy development.
Short North bagel regulars are about to get a northern twin. The Lox Bagel Shop is preparing a second location at 2140 Ikea Way inside Galaxy at Polaris, with owner Kevin Crowley targeting a fall 2026 open after city permits cleared the space.
The original shop opened in 2018 at 772 N. High St. and built a national profile for hand-rolled bagels that blend Montreal and New York styles. Crowley has said the Polaris kitchen will be larger, the base menu will stay familiar, and a few new tricks will arrive with catering and beverage room to grow.

What changes at Galaxy, and what does not
Crowley framed the biggest change as the address itself: a suburban high-traffic pocket aimed at weekday workers and nearby neighborhoods rather than another High Street storefront. The Polaris room is described around 2,100 square feet. Short North hours remain Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and weekends 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. until the second counter posts its own board.
Galaxy already mixes wellness, late-night pizza, and tech mini golf into the same development, so a morning bagel counter fills a different daypart than Mikey’s Late Night Slice or the planned Puttshack. Food & Wine and Bon Appétit nods from earlier years still hang over the brand as the second shop builds its own line.

No firm day-one date is locked beyond the fall window Crowley shared, so treat September talk as a target rather than a guarantee. Follow the Short North shop for the official ribbon cut, then expect the same boiled-and-baked hybrid bagel core with room for catering trays.
