Farmer's Larder Grocery Sets Nov. 21 Opening on South High
A farm-run market at 900 S. High St. will sell Ohio meat, produce, milk and grab-and-go lunches, and it is already taking holiday dinner orders. Status: Opening Nov. 21.

A small grocery built around Ohio farm food plans to open its doors at 900 S. High St. on Saturday, November 21. The Farmer's Larder lists the grand opening date at the top of its website, and says it will open every day from 10 in the morning until 7 at night, and it markets itself as German Village's grocery even though the address sits on the Brewery District side of High Street.
The pitch is to shop the way a farmer eats. The site promises pasture-raised meats, fresh vegetables and milk, and grains milled locally. The store's site simply calls the owner Farmer Jamie; 614NOW identified her as Jamie Pritchard, founder of WIT Farm, a pasture-raised beef, pork and poultry operation familiar to German Village Farmers Market regulars.
Beyond the shelves, the market is set up for regulars. A grab-and-go cooler holds soups, salads and sandwiches, and the eleventh lunch is free after any ten, with no punch card. Farm Shares let shoppers build a box of meat, fruit and vegetables, or milk and eggs, and put it on a subscription. Party platters run from breakfast to dinner and dessert, and there is a holiday meal program where you give a head count and finish the food in your own oven. The site asks for holiday dinner orders by November 20.
The Larder has not posted a full producer list on its home page or said whether it will stock beer or wine, and there is no word yet on parking. We will update this page if the date moves.
For neighbors south of Downtown, a walkable grocery stop on this stretch of High Street is new. Plan a visit with our German Village like a local guide, browse the Brewery District page, and follow more openings in Openings.
