Free community birthday party for the Palace Theatre's centennial, with tours, pop-up performances, and stage photo moments from 1 to 5 p.m
Palace 100: The Birthday Celebration is CAPA's free community open house for the Palace Theatre's 100th year, scheduled Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. downtown. No tickets are required for the afternoon program of tours, pop-up performances, and stage photo opportunities.
The Palace opened in 1926 as a Loew's movie palace and remains one of downtown's signature performance rooms. This birthday event is built for neighbors, families, and anyone who has only ever seen the lobby on the way to a paid show. Gift-certificate drawings and guided looks behind the usual usher lines are part of the pitch.
Come for an easy downtown afternoon that does not demand evening childcare or concert prices. Pair it with a Short North lunch if you want, then walk in when doors open. Confirm any line or capacity notes on capa.com the morning of the event.
