Boston stringband High Horse, with fiddle, cello, guitar and bass, play a Sunday matinee at Natalie's Grandview on November 15, 2026.
High Horse play an afternoon show on the Music Hall Stage at Natalie's Grandview on Sunday, November 15, 2026, starting at 2:30 p.m.
The Boston band calls itself a progressive acoustic stringband: four friends with three bows and one pick. Fiddler Carson McHaney, cellist Karl Henry, guitarist G Rockwell and bassist Noah Harrington met through Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory, and they play original tunes alongside bluegrass, old-time and other folk traditions, with an alternative rock push in the energy.
A cello in a bluegrass lineup changes the sound, adding a low, singing line under the fiddle. Their 2024 debut album was produced by mandolinist Jacob Jolliff and engineered by Dave Sinko. A Sunday matinee is a good fit for families and for anyone who would rather be home by dinner, and the kitchen serves a late lunch during the show.
