Christian alternative pioneer Steve Taylor brings Some Band and special guests The Choir, celebrating 40 years and a 20-song double album, to the Southern Theatre on October 30, 2026.
Steve Taylor & Some Band play the Southern Theatre on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., with The Choir as special guests. The tour is billed as the Almost Farewell Tour.
Taylor has worked in music since 1983, earning two Grammy nominations as a solo artist for Meltdown in 1984 and Squint in 1993, and founding the alternative band Chagall Guevara. He produced Sixpence None the Richer's platinum 1997 album with "Kiss Me" and three gold Newsboys records. He also directs and produces films, including Sketch with Tony Hale, and leads the theatre and cinematic arts school at Lipscomb University in Nashville.
The Choir formed in Southern California and now lives in Nashville: Derri Daugherty on vocals and guitar, Steve Hindalong on drums and Dan Michaels on saxophone and Lyricon. They mark 40 years in 2026 with Dragonfly, a 20-song double album and their 20th studio record. Fans of 1980s and 1990s Christian alternative music will not see this pairing often.
