New Albany adds a community menorah lighting at Rose Run Park on December 6, 2026, with rabbis' blessings at 5:00 p.m. and a Hanukkah skate that afternoon.
New Albany holds its first community Menorah Lighting Ceremony at Rose Run Park at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2026, a new addition to the city's holiday calendar. Local rabbis lead the traditional blessings, a children's choir sings Hanukkah songs, and the crowd counts down together before the menorah is lit. Free hot drinks and kosher donuts are served.
From noon to 4:30 p.m., the Hinson Amphitheater ice rink runs a Hanukkah-themed Menorah Skate. The $15 admission includes skate rental, a photo with a skating dreidel, dreidel decorating, and traditional games played for chocolate coins. Skating continues until 8:00 p.m. after the ceremony.
The ceremony is free and open to everyone, and the park is in the New Albany village center near shops and restaurants. Dress for an outdoor evening in early December.
