Driftwood play Charlie's Stage at Natalie's Grandview on Friday, November 20, 2026, at 8:30 p.m.

The band started with Joe Kollar and Dan Forsyth playing music as high schoolers in the basement of Kollar's parents' house in upstate New York. The lineup now includes violinist Claire Byrne, bassist Joey Arcuri and drummer Sam Fishman, and they have played everywhere from cross-country club runs to Levon Helm's barn in Woodstock.

Their sixth album, December Last Call, was recorded in that same basement. The lyrics look back at the band growing up, through new parenthood and pandemic shutdowns, while the music leans toward louder electric guitar and harder drums than their bluegrass roots. "Every Which Way But Loose" and "Up All Night Blues" are the sing-alongs, and the closer "Stardust" strips things back to voices and acoustic strings.
