A full week of fairgrounds life north of Columbus, capped by the Little Brown Jug harness classic on the half-mile track that racing fans plan trips around
The Delaware County Fair runs September 19 through 26, 2026, at the Delaware County Fairgrounds with the usual barns, rides, food, and nightly energy about 30 minutes north of downtown Columbus. Live harness racing stretches across the week and builds toward Jug Day.
The Little Brown Jug on Thursday, September 24, is the headline: a Triple Crown pacing classic for three-year-olds on one of harness racing's best-known half-mile tracks. Daytime Jug admission is priced higher than a regular fair day and includes fair entry. Regular daily admission is modest, with kids under eight free most days.
Go for a classic county fair if you only have one evening. Plan a full Thursday if the races are the point. Parking fees and traffic spike on Jug Day, so arrive early, wear walking shoes, and confirm ticket rules on littlebrownjug.com or the fair site before you drive.
