The trio of Ronan Bell, Jonathan Byrne and Ted Conway formed in 2016 in Tullamore, County Offaly, in the Irish midlands. Their sound stacks electronic and dance production on top of hip-hop verses and traditional Irish melodies, so a tin-whistle line can land over a club beat in the same song. They have built a following at home in Ireland and now tour clubs in North America.
A&R is a small, standing-room room, which is the right size for a band whose sets are part DJ night and part sing-along. Fans of the newer wave of Irish acts mixing trad with pop production will find this an easy weeknight pick, and it lands well ahead of the St. Patrick's Day crowds.
