bobrauschenbergamerica opens Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. in Studio One Theatre at the Riffe Center, 77 South High Street downtown, and continues through November 14 with a mix of evening and matinee dates. The play is Charles Mee's theatrical collage about American artist Robert Rauschenberg, built the way Rauschenberg built paintings: people, places, music, dancing, love stories, picnics, business schemes, and jokes stacked in the same frame.

Rather than a straight biography, the script treats the mid-century United States as a jumble of fragments, the same way Rauschenberg combined found objects and newspaper images. Performances on the opening weekend run October 29 through 31 at 8:00 p.m., with later dates on November 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, and 14. Tickets are sold through CAPA.

Studio One is the smaller Riffe house, so sightlines stay close to the stage. The run sits beside other downtown theatre openings that week, which makes an early reservation useful if you want a specific night.
