Why First Tee Central Ohio why was this picked
First Tee Central Ohio, based on East Livingston Avenue in Reynoldsburg, starts children at ages 5 and 6 in its Little Birdies group and then moves them through levels for ages 7 to 9, 10 to 11, 12 to 13 and 14 and up. At every level coaches teach golf fundamentals next to five commitments: pursuing goals, growing through challenge, collaborating with others, building positive self-identity and using good judgment. The chapter runs programs at partner sites around Central Ohio and in schools, and its alumni stories include college scholarship winners.
