The Palmer Squares at Woodlands Tavern

The Palmer Squares bring their lyric-first rap to Woodlands Tavern at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2026, with Jinari Kemet opening. The show is all ages, two nights after the duo plays Cleveland's Beachland Tavern.

The Chicago pair built a following with off-the-wall rhyme schemes and long, single-take rap videos on YouTube, the kind where the verses keep going well past where most songs would stop. Their 2013 album FINNA climbed to number 18 on the iTunes hip-hop chart in the U.S. and number 13 in Canada, and they have turned up on releases by jam band Umphrey's McGee, Tropidelic, and UBI.

That jam-scene connection is part of why the duo fits so well in a room like Woodlands, which usually books jam, bluegrass, and roots acts. Expect quick wordplay, plenty of crowd back-and-forth, and a set built for people who like to catch every bar.
