Oranjudio presents Freedom First on the Music Hall Stage at Natalie's Grandview on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. The concert is a benefit for Keith LaMar.

LaMar is a writer, poet and activist who has spent about 30 years in solitary confinement on Ohio's death row for a crime he maintains he did not commit. The project, subtitled music from death row, pairs him with Catalan jazz pianist Albert Marquès. At each concert LaMar performs by phone from the Ohio State Penitentiary in Youngstown, reading his spoken word poetry over contemporary jazz played live by the band. The poster lists Sami Stevens on vocals, Kazemde George on tenor saxophone, Kindall Benjamin on bass and Antoine Fatout on drums.

The concert poster notes that Ohio has set January 16, 2030, as the date it intends to execute LaMar, which gives the night real urgency. It is part concert and part public appeal, and the music carries weight because the voice in it is coming from a cell.
