Columbus soul-pop band Doc Robinson plays a hometown Friday at The Bluestone on October 23, 2026, with Youngstown's The Vindys opening.
Doc Robinson plays a hometown show at The Bluestone on Friday, October 23, 2026, presented by WCBE. Youngstown pop-rock band The Vindys open, and the downtown room opens at 7:00 p.m. for all ages.
The band started in 2016 when Jon Elliott of The Floorwalkers and Nick D'Andrea of Nick D and the Believers wrote together and named the result after two favorites, Smokey Robinson and Dr. Dog. D'Andrea later stepped away, and Elliott now leads a six-piece built from Columbus R&B and rock players. Their song "Break My Fall" turned up on BoJack Horseman, and they have toured with Caamp, Neal Francis and The Brook and The Bluff.
They call the sound backyard barbecue breakup music: bright horns, two lead guitars and hooks that lean toward old soul. The Vindys, who have opened for Pat Benatar, make this an all-Ohio bill on a Friday night in town.
