Sunday Gravy Coming to Short North Tavern Kitchen

Short North Tavern is lining up a new Italian kitchen where Pie of the Tiger used to bake pans. Sunday Gravy, from chef Jamie Honnell George, is posting a coming-soon footprint inside the bar at 674 N. High St.
The concept said as much on its Facebook page on September 19, 2026, with a short coming-soon note for Short North Tavern, and its website already lists the address and draft hours.
George's site frames the room as Roman-style street pizza and Italian sandwiches built around a simmered Sunday sauce idea. Draft hours on the site run Wednesday and Thursday 4 to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday 3 to 10 p.m. An exact first-service date is not posted yet, so treat the calendar as announced rather than open.
What fills the pizza gap
Pie of the Tiger wrapped its Short North Tavern run earlier in September after about five years of Detroit-Sicilian pans in the back of the sports bar. The tavern itself stays open. Sunday Gravy is the next concept claiming that kitchen lane, not a reboot of the bar brand.
George's Columbus resume includes chef stops at Basi Italia, Trattoria Roma, Frezno Eclectic Kitchen, 'plas, and Z Cucina. The public tease leans sandwiches such as a meatball sub and a chicken cutlet "Big Parma," plus Roman-style pies and Italian desserts. Menu details still read like a preview until tickets print.
