October weekends in the 614 are short, and the farm and park calendars move fast. We just published a new city guide to keep the month practical: How to Do Fall in Columbus. It covers apple picking windows, Halloween nights, Cedar Point Halloweekends, pumpkin patches, and Metro Parks walks without turning the month into a scavenger hunt.

The guide is built for late-season timing. It notes which orchards still have variety windows left, which activity farms wrap earlier in October, and which Halloween events skip Halloween weekend itself. Pair a Grove City or Ostrander farm morning with a Boo at the Zoo afternoon, or keep the day local with Franklin Park Conservatory glass pumpkins and a Highbanks or Inniswood loop.

It also points past the city line when a day trip earns the drive, then sends you back to the live events calendar for dated shows rather than inventing a CAPA list. If you already use our longer day-trip piece, Fall Weekends Near Columbus, this guide stays closer to orchard, zoo, and park logistics inside and just outside the metro.

Use Downtown as the citywide hub on our Downtown page when you are stacking a Conservatory stop with something farther out, and keep a rainy backup from rainy day with kids when the forecast flips mid-morning.

The guide is live now. Confirm farm hours and ticket windows the morning you go.
