O'Charley's Shuts Its Last Two Columbus-Area Restaurants

The casual dining chain closed its final two Columbus-area restaurants after service on Wednesday, September 9, 2026: Reynoldsburg at 2272 Baltimore-Reynoldsburg Road and Canal Winchester at 6224 Gender Road. A Mansfield location closed the same night. The shutdown was part of a broader move that ended company-owned O'Charley's stores across the country, according to local and national reporting.
Corporate stayed quiet. The chain's website and social channels went dark, and Google marked the local sites permanently closed. Confirmation came from employees, individual restaurant posts, and newsrooms that reached stores directly. Staff in other markets described nametags coming off after a final shift.
A long fade in Columbus
This was not a sudden local collapse so much as the last chapter. Morse Road and Georgesville Square closed in 2023. Westerville-area and Grove City stores followed later that year. The old Polaris building later became Fogo de Chao. Grove City reopened as a Logan's Roadhouse. That left Reynoldsburg and Canal Winchester as the only Central Ohio addresses still on the map until this month.
Owner Cannae Holdings had already flagged trouble in SEC filings. Same-store sales were down double digits, guest counts were soft, and the company had been exploring options for the restaurant group while trimming the footprint.
What locals are left asking
Gift cards and worker next steps remain murky. In earlier Ohio closures, the company pointed people to corporate for refunds and said it would help staff move to other stores. This time there are no nearby company locations left to absorb those jobs. Some franchise O'Charley's elsewhere may stay open a few more weeks, but that does not help Franklin County diners looking for the honey mustard and rolls they grew up on.
For now, the practical update is simple. If you still had Reynoldsburg or Canal Winchester on your rotation, those dining rooms are done. Central Ohio's O'Charley's era ended with the September 9 close.
