Aladdin's Eatery plans to open its sixth Columbus-area restaurant in the Gateway-University District later this month. The Lebanese-American chain shared the plan in an October 6 post on its own website, which pairs the campus-area news with its newest suburban store in Westerville. The company has not yet published a street address or an exact opening day for the Gateway location.

The company said in the announcement that the Gateway store will bring "healthy, flavorful dining to one of the city's most energetic neighborhoods." It is aiming the new room at students, faculty, healthcare workers, residents and downtown commuters, with takeout, delivery and catering on offer along with dine-in. A sign-up link on the post promises opening updates for anyone who wants the date first.

Westerville is already open at 732 N. State St., according to the company's locations page. Its posted schedule opens the doors at 11 a.m. every day, with closing at 10 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays, 10:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 9:30 p.m. on Sundays. The other four area stores sit on North High Street in Clintonville and in Worthington, on Grandview Avenue in Grandview, and on East Dublin-Granville Road in the Hamilton Quarter section of New Albany.

Aladdin's traces its Columbus history to a first local restaurant in the late 1990s. The current menu runs from hummus, tabouli, falafel and dawali to rolled pitas, soups, smoothies and juices, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices throughout. We will update this tracker once the company names the Gateway address and opening day.
